A New BLog
I have a new blog called Yurp. There do not seem to be any blogs in the UK (where I now live) that are in favour of Europe. The poor Brits are so inundated in propaganda that they do not know otherwise. Remember tax harmonisation? How long have the Telegraph been banging on about that? How many people know that the Lisbon treaty specifically says that national parliaments have the right the to set their own taxes?

I've Just had something of a trip down memory lane. It's an odd thing having blog that has just been sitting there for over four years. Or four years bar some erratic random post in 2005.
That picture below, the one with the policeman. A friend of mine looked at it a couple of weeks ago and then made a remark about how I had "faked" my arrest.
I remember when that photo was taken. It was in Scotsdale Arizona, during the build-up to the last debate of the 2004 US Presidential campaign. We were behind a couple of rings of security when I chanced upon the gentlemen you see below. They were Arizona motorcycle cops.
Now, if you have grown up in France, you will know that, with the possible exception of Lucky Luke, there can be nothing cooler than an Arizona Motorcycle cop.
I had to have a pic with them.
The people I was with froze with fear when I asked if one of them could take it. They told me not to ask. Something could happen.
I did ask. One of them said no. His reason , I jest not, was that he was wearing the "incorrect" uniform.
I must have looked at the picture twenty times and only now do I see that it looks like a mock arrest.
The cop with the 'tache has his hands on the banister and I'm trying to puff my puny self up by putting my hands behinds my back.
Then there is the photo diary.
It probably looks rather boring without an explanation. I didn't really talk about it at the time because I (and everybody else around me) was too paranoid.
My cousin, John Kerry was running for president. Not wanting to sit on my dérriere while I could in some small way do something about the bull in a chinashop that has only now just left the whitehouse,
I went to Tucson, Arizona to volunteer for in the election, the photodiary below tells a good story of that. Some captions are needed, however. That will be done.
It merits a story doesn't it. The story of some obscure Kerry relative and his part in not getting Bush out of power.

It's been a while....
....since I posted. Have been travelling around a bit over the last couple of years. Let's face it, blogging is a serious pain the derrière. In the time since the wheat has sorted itself from the chaff. Sites like Talking Points Memo are a joy read. An opinion blog with some sort of basis in reality. Makes a difference from Instapundit, who so ridiculed those of us who were stupid enough not to see the point in this war. Then of course there's Guido, the ghost who walks around the houses of parliament in the middle of the night, picking up gossip and transmitting it to us mere mortals.
In the meantime, I am importing cider from Brittany to the UK. I have a company now called "The Meriadoc Trading Company" named after the first "Breton" king of Brittany, or Armorica, as it was hitherto called. It's under construction a the moment, but watch this spot...

Arizona dreaming

I spent the month of October in Arizona trying (and failing) to make the world a better place. Follow a link to see my photo diary of that surreal place thought to have been named after the Spanish "Arida zona," meaning "the arid zone."
...And, yes, that is me with the State policemen....

Terrorism
Have you noticed that the exit polls from those elections show that those who voted for Bush are those least effected by "terrorism." Can't see Al-Qaeda attacking Wyoming, quite frankly. Except maybe an inadequately protected nuclear power station should the opportunity arise for those fundy bastards.
Angelinos and New Yorkers (most at risk) did not vote for Bush. This is where they are like Europeans who actually are far more at risk from terrorism than Utatatians(?) The greatest, to my knowledge, terrorist event was 9-11, but then that was described as a "statistical abheration." in the US crime figures.
The election is over, I can get polical again.

Red Meat
Here's something I did, earlier. As before, click on the picture.
The poem, in French in case you don't notice, is by Géo Norge. It is entitled "La Faune" or "Fauna."
Vidirant
Forget blogging. It's so tedious. From now on your getting vidirants. Click on the picture below to view my first erm...latest vidirant.
Oh yeah, it might be a good idea to have a fast connection.

Which one of these two, shall we say, energetic characters do you think has been most primped up for the occasion, master or dog? Then again who really is the master? The dog seems to be having a good time, checkin' out the bitches... |
The Dog outhouse
I went to a dogshow in Westwood this morning. I took a number of photos, the most amusing of which was above... |
